Étienne Klein, a celebrated physicist and director at France’s Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission published a tweet with a star whose image was obtained through the James Webb Telescope.
It wasn’t a star, it was a slice of chorizo (sausage).
I think he meant this as a joke. He apologized. If you actually look at it, it’s pretty obvious, he certainly wasn’t trying to get away with anything.
