This is pretty interesting. You have a very large beast of a plane, it is powered from the ground, it doesn’t go very high so you get the efficiency of “ground effect” (i.e. extra lift from the pressure beneath you).
It will go 300 miles per hour,
It will carry 2000 passengers.
This is probably cheaper to build than a maglev train, especially in the terrain specified in the video.
Certainly cheaper to operate per person. Question is whether you will have 2000 people all going at once to a location over distances that seems to imply. There are reasons why airlines often buy smaller jets for its routes.
And what happens when power goes off or if the tether breaks?
