Sugar The Surfing Dog, the first canine inducted into the Surfer’s Hall of Fame, dies

Sugar the Surfing Dog — five-time world champion, therapy dog to veterans, and the first pup ever inducted into the Surfer’s Hall of Fame — has hung up her life jacket at the ripe old age of 16. From stray to shredding barrels like a pro, she made dog surfing cool and brought smiles (and probably a lot of wet sand) wherever she went. Her owner says she died in his arms after battling cancer, proving that even the most radical pups eventually trade the perfect wave for the big beach in the sky.
