These are cartoons, mostly from the 1930’s that Disney decided were racist and too offensive to keep in their catalog. They were banned.

If you are interested, you will see that these are not particularly racist. The one below is a depiction/caricature of people and places that existed at the time, and is done in good fun as every Disney production is. It certainly wasn’t intended to be racist or to put anyone down.

But it is not as carefully woke as would be required in today’s world. You wouldn’t show this to kids of the age of the original audience because you would need to explain the historical context.

For example, why does that character (Louis Armstrong) talk that way? (answer, that guy really did!). Why are those women dancing that way and why are they all black? (answer: because there were all black clubs like that in the 1930’s).

But nothing here would make them racist. Have a look, see what you think.
