Are we back to the third world in Los Angeles? Do apartment owners believe that the people of L.A. somehow don’t understand that you can buy food and store it for later in a cold place.
But it is true, a great many apartments in L.A. do NOT have refrigerators, and apparently there is a vibrant market for them.
Why?
California law does not require it. Other municipalities like San Francisco have made local laws to require it, so this is not a problem in most of California. New York also doesn’t have a law, but there have been court cases that have said that without a refrigerator the apartment is not safe and not habitable.
