Mark Zuckerberg’s metaverse dreams just took another hit, and this time it’s in the form of a breakup-themed ad so bad it’s almost art. The clip features low-poly avatars with detached forearms awkwardly discussing their exes, all while looking like they were rendered on a 2005 Dell desktop. After widespread ridicule, Meta pulled the ad, but not before the internet had its fun. With billions spent and nothing to show but janky graphics and screeching kids, the metaverse is starting to feel like a $60 billion prank on all of us.
