This money is very well hidden. I suspect they had a tip of some kind to know to search this particular piece of furniture.
Think about it. Money doesn’t have a particular smell, so dog’s can’t find it. This kind of furniture would be a bitch to x-ray, and many layers of wood would obscure the concealment badly. This is actually very nice concealment job.
But the police are good at this. I was told one time that when the FBI does an intense search in a suspected spy’s residence, where there might be tiny secret stuff, they make a grid of the entire place and then search it grid square by grid square to destruction.
