This police force is not buying high speed Ford Mustangs. They are not buying armored assault vehicles. They can’t afford any of this.
But they are buying Tuk Tuks, the three wheeled vehicle commonly used as taxis in many Asian countries.
This makes a lot of sense, because in crowded Asian streets they are smaller a more maneuverable, and they are likely to reach a crime scene much faster than than a larger vehicle.
And of course, if Asian traditions hold, you can fit about 30 police officers in one Tuk Tuk (although going up hills some of them will have to get out and push).
