Lauren McLeod, a 31-year-old mom from Perth, Australia, threw a “bye bye boobie” party to celebrate her son Bowie, now seven, stopping breastfeeding at age six. Initially planning to stop at two, Lauren continued nursing Bowie and his sister Tigerlily, now four, until Bowie decided it was time to stop. Despite facing criticism, Lauren believes in the benefits of extended breastfeeding and will continue with Tigerlily until she is ready to wean.
