Nikita Gourianov is a physicist at Oxford. He says that Quantum computing is far more hype than substance.
Despite the billions of dollars invested in this, Gourianov says that not a single practical problem has been solve. He says that the anticipated ability of quantum computing to break any kind of encryption is way overblown.
He is backed up by the second link below that says the current state of art quantum computer is easily challenged by conventional computers.
Hmmm, maybe the end of privacy and encryption is not so near after all.
