Finally Congress has done something right. We have found over and over again that sourcing strategic goods in China is has extreme risks.
We are also finding that our ally Taiwan, which has some of the largest chip manufacturing plants in the world, is in danger of being invaded by China.
This bill provides $52 billion in encouragement over 5 years to U.S. companies to build their new manufacturing facilities in the U.S.
It’s about damned time.
The rest of the $280 billion bill is to encourage “the ability of the U.S. to compete in future technologies.” Building the work force?
Not too sure about this part, could be mostly pork. Plenty of that to go around.
