In Germany, where a substantial portion of its energy comes from Russia, producer prices for industrial products increased by 33.6 percent compared with May 2021. German producer prices have climbed to a new record every month since December 2021.
Energy costs in Germany have risen over 87% because they are attempting to cut themselves off from Russia. And of course Russia is reciprocating. And then, of course, Russia is selling its oil elsewhere, and making more money from it than it did before they invaded Ukraine.
Some analysts believe that if the energy situation gets much worse, major German manufacturing plants will shut down.
This is not good.
