Yes, it is a real crisis, we truly have empty shelves where we should have baby formula.
But is that because we have some structural problem? A supply chain problem? Shortage of raw materials?
Perhaps not.
Perhaps this was just a whisper campaign that became a news story which scared mothers into buying and hoarding several times their usual purchase amount.
This would mean that the normal pipeline sufficient to provide the normal production capacity to serve the normal demand for baby formula, suddenly needed to expanded by several times to accommodate panicked moms in the hoarding behavior.
It may not be Biden’s fault, but it is his problem.
