Russia has conquered the area of Kherson in the south of Ukraine and is launching a referendum to the people there to become an independent country, the Kherson People’s Republic.
Putin has kicked out the Catholic Ukrainian speakers and now has mostly Russian speakers in the area. Not to mention that Putin always rigs his elections.
So the emergence of this new, Russian-friendly country is pretty much assured.
The strategy is devious but sound. How can the West argue with it, if they people in that area voted for it?
