Abu Ibrahim al-Hashimi al-Qurayshi was the “caliph” of ISIS. The U.S. military went into Atmeh, a village in rebel-held Idlib Province, just inside Syria and conducted a capture/kill operation.
But they didn’t get the chance. After a two hour fire fight, Al-Qurayshi detonated a suicide vest, killing himself, his wife and his children.
Fortunately, before that, the U.S. troops were able to clear out the families (including a 10 day old child) living on the first two floors of the three story building where Al-Qurayshi occupied the third floor.
