You think Covid is bad, but here is a list of diseases that you might have encountered had you lived in a medieval city. Many of them are horrifying, much worse than COVID. And of course, nobody back then knew about masks and social distancing (or other political BS…). Some of these are still around today but are much attenuated by modern medicine.
This is fascinating reading, we don’t realize how lucky we are, and the short lifespans of the people then.
