This is expected to pass in Indonesia. It will apply to citizens and foreigners alike.
Only certain parties, such as close relatives, can report the crime, which will carry a sentence of up to one year in jail.Â
I believe there are laws like this in some other Muslim countries, except crafty houses of prostitution have figured out a way to get you married and divorced in a very short time. Ta daaa!
And the second part, punishing insults against high-ranking officials, would be very difficult in the U.S., especially with brain-dead Joe Biden as President (oops, will they throw me in jail in Indonesia?).
Well, I won’t be going to Indonesia any time soon.
So, it would be hard to get legislation passed to make insulting high-ranking officials illegal in the United States of America, BECAUSE “Joe Biden is brain dead”? You mean a more competent president would easily figure out how to ban insulting public officials, (essentially banning freedom of speech), in the USA? Your definition of competence is frightening. In your eagerness to throw an insult at Joe Biden as a joke about the story, you didn’t even realize what you were really saying, now did you? Figures. Think more, and talk less. And think more before you talk, and you’ll put your foot in your mouth less. Just saying. Unless, of course, you truly are for making it illegal in the USA to insult public officials. I would hope not.
