Lake Superior State University has released its 50th annual list of words and phrases that should be retired due to overuse and irritation, compiled from thousands of public submissions. Top offenders this year include ‘6-7,’ ‘demure,’ ‘cooked,’ ‘massive,’ and turning perfectly good nouns like ‘gift’ into verbs.
