Expensify, the fintech wizards, went all out, opening a fancy cocktail lounge in their San Francisco office. But after some ‘sabered Champagne sunset toasts,’ they’ve decided to call it quits on the whole office bar scene. Apparently, even free drinks and cappuccinos couldn’t pry remote-first employees away from their comfy couches and ‘Liquid Death’ brand water stashes. It’s a cautionary tale of how the siren call of home office perks has made the traditional office about as appealing as a root canal. But hey, at least they’re opening another bar in Oregon – just without the freebies!
