This aircraft has been in the air for more than 26 days in a row. Basically it charges during the day with its solar panels and climbs to its maximum altitude of up to 70,000 feet.

At night it floats and gradually loses altitude until the sun rises again providing power to climb for the day.

The aircraft will carry a payload of about 50 lbs.

Some are saying this is the equivalent of a satellite, that it should be able to hover for a very long time. It can be an internet access point, or a communications relay, or even an imaging platform over unstable, disaster or war-ridden areas.

I want one.
