This is a map of migration patterns in the U.S. from 2010 to 2020. The green areas are gaining people the pink areas are losing.
Looks like people are flocking to Texas and Florida, two states, by the way, that have no state income tax. Looks like a lot of folks are going to southern California as well, but it is my understanding that this has changed since. Silicon Valley appears to be stuffed.
Since Covid, these patterns have become more pronounced, still with Texas and Florida as the “beneficiaries” of the trend.
