But in 1956, this is what it looked like. It was very expensive and could be leased from IBM for the modern equivalent of $30,000 per month. To store one hi-res movie, you would need about 400 of these, which would cost you $1.2 million per month. Quite a lot just to have access to My Cousin Vinny when you want it.
