Falcons are apex predators, other birds are afraid of them.
That makes this a genius system. A bird strike can destroy a multimillion dollar jet engine. The bird is not happy about it either.
The robot falcon can just fly around the runway whenever airplanes are not coming in. It doesn’t have to be everywhere all the time, the other birds get the message.
This reminds me of my travels to Sierra Leone some years back. Our plane had to buzz the runway before we landed to scare away the turkey buzzards.
