Something dire that everyone should know about. Mexico is dominated by the drug cartels, basically you cannot touch them there. It is sad and dangerous.
Ostensibly Mexico is a democracy, they have elections, people choose their leaders. But in reality, Mexico’s leaders are subservient to the narcotraffickers. Anyone who opposes the narcotraffickers in a meaningful way will almost certainly be slaughter. In that world, the slogan is “plat or plomo”, silver or lead. If you can’t be bought by silver, you are dealt with by lead.
